Silence DoGood, Part Duh, I mean… Deux

Howdy Y’all, I’m back in town. Winter was wonderful and I missed Eagle Nest and this wonderful valley. To Start, let’s clear up something. Although Helen Hutchins was my assigned “Pen Name”. I prefer Mrs. Silence DoGood.

If you aren’t familiar, look it up. ——

Well it appears that the Circus is still in town, but the Ringmaster is MIA. No one is surprised. There is really no other option but to disappear, and leave it to the others... the State, and the Village Council, to mop up the mess with Sams Club quantities of TP. Speaking of Solid Waste, the stink can be smelt all over the Village. A recent social media post, ?, suggested that there is an Ordinance issue that is obstructive of progress. Well , S**t, the P&Z ordinance is probably six inches thick if you stack up all the amendments... I don’t need to spell it out, or do I? If so, next month... The last I was told, the Village of Eagle Nest wants to “spread the burden” of solid waste over the businesses in town. First, is it legal to just tax the businesses in town? Second, no one is surprised. The Elected Officials don’t want to appear to ‘burden the masses’ so let’s just increase the tax burden on the only sector that brings any considerable revenue into the Village. I could go on, but why. No one seems to be listening.

Here’s a tidbit that might perk some ears. The new “Village Administrator” is also a business manager here in town. That seems like a CONFLICT OF INTEREST. Also, her husband has been appointed to the Lodger’s Tax Committee. HMMMM, that also STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN. Btw, that is one committee, org/dept that the State actually pays attention to, so... let’s see how they proceed with that and hopefully some of y’all can catch something.

Lastly, the EMS service is once again, under serious scrutiny. The past two previous EMS directors resigned, and the new one, well, we don’t know much, but he was fired from the Village of Angel Fire... Hmmm. But watch for an announcement from the PRC in June.
