3 men arrested for Brandywine homicide
Motive appears to be drug-related robbery, police say
Police have arrested three suspects in connection to a fatal shooting on May 2 in Brandywine. A witness told investigators that Ra’Shaad Stanley Hargrave, 22, of Waldorf was shot and killed after they were robbed during a drug transaction, according to court records.
The Prince George’s Police Department announced on Monday that Aiden Daniel Hicks, 19, Antonio Ravond Howard, Jr., 22, and Rodney Terrence Nedd, Jr., 21, all of Brandywine, have been apprehended and charged with first-degree murder.
On May 2 around 1:47 p.m., police received a report of a shooting at 15100 General Lafayette Boulevard. Upon arrival, PGPD officers found
Hargrave suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics later pronounced him dead.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and interviewed a witness who said Hargrave entered a vehicle with three people inside for a planned drug transaction, police records indicate. Moments later, a gun was drawn as one of the suspects announced Hargrave was being robbed. The witness said he/ she was also robbed of $500 and a Gucci belt. Then, several shots rang out and Hargrave’s body fell out of the car, the witness told investigators.
“The defendant [Hicks] then shot the victim, while he lay bleeding on the ground,” charging documents state.
The suspects then fled the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the motive was a marijuana-related robbery, a PGPD press release states.
Police arrested Nedd on May 4, Hicks on May 5, and Howard on May 7, court records show.
All three men are being held without bond.
