Schools move to new Early Start program
Program costs will be covered by hiring freezes, eliminating 19 central office-based Head Start positions
Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) CEO Kevin Maxwell announced Friday a new program operated and funded by the school system, called Early Start, to continue Head Start services for all students and families.
The new program — which was announced during a press conference at the Sasscer Administration Building in Upper Marlboro — will serve 855 students with a certified and high-quality curriculum at 35 program sites.
