Wounded war­riors com­pete at An­drews

The Air Force Wounded War­rior Pro­gram held its North­east War­rior CARE event at Joint Base An­drews from Nov. 12-16. War­riors chal­lenged them­selves and each other in com­pet­i­tive sports and classes dur­ing the event. CARE events pro­vide ser­vice to se­ri­ously wounded, ill and in­jured air­men as well as vet­er­ans and their care­givers through care­giver sup­port train­ing, adap­tive and re­ha­bil­i­ta­tive sports events, re­cov­er­ing air­man men­tor­ship train­ing, and em­ploy­ment and ca­reer readi­ness classes.

The sports events and classes equipped wounded war­riors with tools for men­tal, phys­i­cal and emo­tional tools of re­siliency and re­cov­ery.
