U.S. AFB Air­men of Note fall tour salutes vet­er­ans

The U.S. Air Force Band pre­mier jazz en­sem­ble, Air­men of Note, played an eight-day fall tour in Vir­ginia and Ten­nessee, Nov. 12-18, to pro­vide ap­pre­ci­a­tion for vet­er­ans and com­mu­nity mem­bers in at­ten­dance. Dur­ing each per­for­mance, the band played orig­i­nal tunes and clas­sic com­po­si­tions while also hon­or­ing vet­er­ans in at­ten­dance with a salute and a stand­ing ova­tion. The band vis­ited mu­sic classes at lo­cal schools be­tween per­for­mances to talk with stu­dents in­ter­ested in the genre.

Mas­ter Sgt. David Mc­Don­ald, Air­men of Note drum­mer, per­forms dur­ing the jazz en­sem­ble’s show at Bear­den High School in Knoxville, Tenn., Nov. 16. The band played at eight venues dur­ing their tour through Vir­ginia and Ten­nessee.
