Run or walk to help veterans
In commemoration of our fallen brothers and sisters in arms, the Rotary Clubs of the tri-county area are proud to sponsor the Tri-County 5-10K Trot and Walk to be held on Saturday, May 26 (Memorial Day weekend) in Solomons.
This event will be in support of Warfighter Advance, with proceeds benefitting its Advance 7-Day program. This program is a retreat designed specifically for those warfighters coping with post-deployment stress and other deployment-related traumas that have adversely impacted their successful reintegration. It features drug-free rehabilita-
tion programs and intervention services.
The Warfighter Advance team has helped more than 900 veterans since the concept was launched in 2003.
Our Rotary Clubs have partnered with Warfighter Advance and the International Society of Ethical Psychology and Psychiatry to host this fun and worthwhile event.
There are 30,000 Rotary
Clubs around the globe that comprise the Rotary International Foundation. Rotary is dedicated to community service, peace and fellowship, and the Tri-County Trot is our way of giving back to those with unseen scars we often find in our own communities.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea School in Solomons. We encourage you to register online
now, or between 7 and 8 a.m. on race day at the church. First prize will be $100. Second prize will be $50.
