As­sault with cup al­leged

Chad Al­lan Deitz, 38, of Cal­i­for­nia was re­leased on per­sonal re­cog­ni­zance this week fol­low­ing his ar­rest on charg­ing pa­pers al­leg­ing he threw a cup that struck his wife on the back of the head.

Deitz was charged Sun­day with com­mit­ting a sec­ond-de­gree as­sault on the woman, who po­lice lo­cated at the Holly Hill Lane res­i­dence with “a small bump to the back of [her] head, and she was cov­ered in wa­ter,” ac­cord­ing to a state­ment of prob­a­ble cause filed by sher­iff’s deputy Richard Forbes. The sus­pect told po­lice “he was in­volved in a ver­bal al­ter­ca­tion with his wife,” court pa­pers state, “but never threw a cup at her.”
