Leonard­town woman ac­cused of con­fin­ing unat­tended child

Re­becca Leigh-Ann Fowler, 28, of Leonard­town was charged Mon­day through a sum­mons with con­fin­ing an unat­tended child, in court pa­pers al­leg­ing her 10-year-old daugh­ter fell off a scooter af­ter be­ing left at home with a younger brother.

A babysit­ter did not show up that af- ter­noon at the Wheat­ley Apart­ment Way neigh­bor­hood, the girl told first re­spon­ders, who treated her at the scene for a mi­nor leg in­jury from the mishap, ac­cord­ing to the court pa­pers filed by Trooper M.S. Whit­man of the Mary­land State Po­lice.

Dur­ing po­lice ques­tion­ing, “Fowler ad­vised when she left her res­i­dence, she told the chil­dren not to leave from in­side,” ac­cord­ing to the court pa­pers stat­ing that the chil­dren “ap­peared to be in good health, and had clean clothes on. The res­i­dence also ap­peared to be clean and in good con­di­tion.”
