My gratitude goes well beyond words

On Oct. 18, the owners of The Lighthouse Restaurant & Dock Bar in Solomons held a golf tournament at Breton Bay Golf and Country Club to benefit Helpful Hooves Equine Therapy Inc., a St. Mary’s County nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of persons with disabilities through the use of horses and horse-related activities.

I would like to thank Nick and Rusty Shriver for all the hard work that goes into an event like this. I know Nick put endless hours of work into planning, printing, selling and organizing what was an incredible event.

Thank you, Rusty, for the great food you prepared for all the golfers, and the Lighthouse staff for helping make sure everything went according to plan.

Thank you especially to the participants who paid so generously to play golf and bid on the silent auction items, and thank you to the winner of the 50/50 drawing who donated his winnings back to Helpful Hooves Equine Therapy.

My gratitude is beyond what words can express. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Sherri St. Clair, Avenue The writer is president of Helpful Hooves Equine Therapy Inc.
