The mission of the St. Mary’s County Camera Club is to “promote the art of photography as a hobby, providing a forum for exchanging knowledge of the subject and inspiring photographers toward improving their art.”
The club’s monthly program works to meet that goal via meetings held on the first three Wednesdays of the month. An educational lecture or demonstra- tion is held on first Wednesdays, a member based critique session on second Wednesdays, and an intra-club competition on third Wednesdays.
The club also hosts photo outings to nearby locations, and sometimes displays members’ work at nearby galleries. Each September, the club officiates the photography division at the St. Mary’s County Fair.
Guests are welcome to attend meetings. Potential visitors can learn more about the club at www.smccc.org or join the club’s Facebook page at www. facebook.com/groups/StMarysCountyCameraClub. Meeting locations vary, so it is best to check Facebook or the website before attending.
