Bob E. Sloan, 88, of For­tuna, Mis­souri, en­tered into rest on Fri­day, Jan­uary 4, 2019. He was born in Mis­sis­sippi, on Nov. 26, 1930 to Ernest and Elsie (Payne) Sloan.

On March 16, 1956, he mar­ried Ma­bel Wenger, who pre­ceded him in death on Au­gust 24, 2015. They lived in Leonard­town, MD un­til 1994, then moved to Tu­nas, Mis­souri. He was a mem­ber of Ver­sailles Men­non­ite Church.

He is sur­vived by five chil­dren: Den­nis (Ellen), of For­tuna, Mis­souri; Pa­tri­cia, of Ephrata, Penn­syl­va­nia; Ran­dal (San­dra), of Leonard­town, MD; Ed­ward (Kath­leen), of Leonard­town, MD; Mark (Lucy), of Leonard­town, MD; 21 grand­chil­dren and 33 great grand­chil­dren. He is also sur­vived by one brother, Dale, of Bow­den, Ge­or­gia; one sis­ter, Wanda Chan­dler, of Con­roe, Texas; and one brother-in-law, Robert Tur­man, of Searcy, Arkansas.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; two brothers: Ray, Gene; and one sis­ter, Grace Tur­man.

Visi­ta­tion will be at Ver­sailles Men­non­ite Church on Wed­nes­day, Jan­uary 9, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Fu­neral ser­vices will be held at Stauf­fer Men­non­ite Church in Tu­nas, Mis­souri, on Thurs­day, Jan­uary 10 at 10 a.m. In­ter­ment will be in Stauf­fer Men­non­ite Ceme­tery.
