Lima Symphony to release newest production Saturday

-

LIMA — Someone tried to kidnap the Maestro and there is an imposter on the podium! The Lima Symphony Orchestra invites listeners to help solve a mystery for this year’s Family concert titled “Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Missing Maestro,” where everyone is a suspect and Maestro Andrew Crust must enlist the help of Sherlock Holmes, played by special guest Enrico LopezYañez, to solve the case. Viewers will enjoy light and modern classic repertoire while learning about the various orchestral instrumental families. This digital production is designed to appeal to the whole family and will be released free of charge on March 20.

The Lima Symphony Orchestra teamed up with Symphonica Productions for this delightful tale of intrigue. This is the LSO’s second collaboration with Symphonic Productions, which specializes in family, educational and pop concerts.

Despite not being able to play for a live audience, the Lima Symphony Orchestra remains steadfast in creating both enrichment for the community and employment for their musicians. Concerts and educational programs have and will continue to be adapted to an online format until it is safe for large numbers of people to reconvene in the concert hall. The LSO’s decisions are informed by the scientific community as well as local and federal leaders to ensure that patrons can be relaxed and confident that their health is not at risk.

It will begin streaming on March 20 online at LimaSymphony.com.

The repertoire is to include: Suppé, Light Cavalry Overture; Mendelssohn, Scherzo from A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Gounod, Funeral March of a Marionette; Tchaikovsky, Waltz from Serenade for Strings; Saint-Saens, Fossils from Carnival

of the Animals; J. Strauss, Jr., Thunder and Lightning Polka and Beethoven, Symphony No. 7 highlights.

This concert is exclusively underwritten by Webb Insurance. The season sponsor is Ohio Arts Council.

The Lima Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to preserving musical excellence as a living part of the community. Serving communities throughout West Central Ohio, the Lima Symphony annually presents five subscription concerts, a family concert, Mozart by Candlelight concerts and an annual New Year’s Eve Pops concert.
