St. Marys Community Foundation Scholarships
Hoyt Brown Scholarship Recipient
The St. Marys Community Foundation Directors have announced the recipient of the Hoyt Brown Scholarship. This scholarship is open to students majoring in Christian education, Theology, or a Social Services occupation such as social work, psychology, sociology, human services, rehabilitation or counseling. The recipient of a $500 scholarship is Elizabeth Sutton. She is the daughter of Joe and Audra Sutton of St. Marys. She will be a junior at Wright State University and is majoring in nursing. Presenting the award on behalf of the Foundation was Doug Moran.
St. Marys Senior Citizens Nursing Scholarship
The St. Marys Community Foundation Directors have announced the recipient of the St. Marys Senior Citizens Nursing Scholarship. This scholarship was available to a student majoring in a nursing degree at college. The recipient of the $500 scholarship is Dalaney Reynolds. Delaney is the daughter of Jason and Cindy Reynolds.
While in school, Delaney was involved in the Tri Star Med Prep program. She was a member of band, SMABB Dance Team, HPAC (Health Professional Affinity Community), was a member of the Bowling Team, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
She will attend Capital University and major in nursing. Foundation was Doug Moran.
Margaret Lipp Scholarship
The St. Marys Community Foundation Directors have announced the recipient of the Edith Geiger Scholarship. This scholarship provided in memory of Margaret Lipp. It is available to graduating seniors “studying to become a priest, nurse or study of medicine.” The recipient of the $1,000 scholarship is Luke Schloemer. While in school, Luke was involved in FFA, Band, Drama Club, School play, National Honor Society, Interact Club, Student Council, FCA, Scholastic Bowl team, Conquest Boys Club, and 4-H.
Luke was a National Merit Scholarship commended student and attended HOBY and Buckeye Boys State. Luke is the son of Jim and Linda Schloemer. He will attend Notre Dame University and major is philosophy.
