Hanson Communications buys Consolidated’s Ohio properties
Hanson Communications has entered into an agreement to purchase the Ohio assists of Consolidated Communications. Consolidated’s Ohio operations include Germantown Telephone Company, Columbus Grove Telephone Company and Orwell Telephone Company which grossed approximately $9 million of revenue in 2020 and include around 4,000 access lines and 3,900 internet connections.
Hanson Communications is a family-owned telecommunications company founded in 1951. With the sale of Consolidated - Ohio finalized, Hanson will own 11 ILEC’s in Minnesota, South Dakota and Ohio. Hanson has over 10,000 access lines, 15,000 internet connections and 5,500 TV connections across the United States.

Currently, Hanson Communications, Inc. is the 52nd largest telephone company in the United States. With the completion of this acquisition, Hanson will move up the list to the top 40 largest telephone companies in the United States.
