Geneva Hoelscher, 78
Geneva “Judy” Hoelscher, 78, of rural New Knoxville, died at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021 at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.
She was born April 18, 1943 in Bellefontaine.
On March 4, 1967 in Wapakoneta, she married Jerry E. Hoelscher, who survives.
Also survived by: daughter Shannon (Shawn) Spencer of Findlay and daughter Dionna (James) Chambers of Odessa, Florida; four grandchildren: Chloe (Doug) Tascoff, Samuel Spencer, Lydia Duncan, Grace Duncan; two great-grandchildren: Sophia Tascoff and Elijah Tascoff; sister Panna “Pam” Alexander of Rising Sun, Ohio and sister Jean Zambon of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Preceded in death by: mother Anna Mae Routt and brother Dennis Neer.
She was a graduate of Wapakoneta High School (Class of 1961).
Judy was employed as a bus driver for the New Knoxville School District and had also worked as a home health aid for Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. For many years, she served as a ticket-taker at athletic events for New Knoxville Rangers sports programs.
She was a member of First Church of New Knoxville.
Her favorite pastimes included reading and watching television. The main focus of Judy’s life was her family. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rites are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 at First Church of New Knoxville, with the Rev. Joel Bucklin, officiating.
Burial will follow at the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery in New Knoxville.
Visitation is 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the ministry center of the church.
