Money being raised for NK family

- By SKYLER MITCHELL Staff Writer

Two local businesses, Inspired Nutrition and Champion Nutrition, are holding a fundraiser this month to support the family of Ryan Lageman, who died after a traffic crash in Celina on Monday.

Inspired and Champion Nutrition are holding a joint fundraiser to help support Lageman’s family in their time of need by holding a fundraiser dedicated to him. A special tea has been made in his name, and each sale will go to a fund that will be sent to the family at the end of November.

“So, it’s just basically we make up a tea, and for everyone of those teas that we sell, a dollar goes back to the family,” said Heather Rhoads, a member of Inspired Nutrition. “And then we also have a donation box for people to donate.”

Otherwise known as the Ryan Tea, the tea is being sold at both locations, with virtually anyone being able to buy at their leisure. The tea is said to be mostly focused on hydration as well as caffeine, which again will be offered throughout the month.

“One of our customers had came in and told us and then we noticed her last name on the article,” said Rhoads when asked how she and Gilbert learned about the Lageman family’s situation. Ryan’s wife and volleyball coach of New Knoxville

Local Schools, Meg Lageman, is actually a regular customer of Inspired’s business. “And we’ve known her a little bit through this.”

After reaching out to a coworker of hers, Meg was glad to hear about the business wanting to help her. She very much appreciates the sentiment and is glad to receive help during such a trying time in her life.

Ryan and Meg had only been married a year as well as having a two month old not long before his sudden departure. The owners of Inspired Nutrition and Champion Nutrition are hoping to receive around a $1,000 to help the family so it can get them through these hard times.

“We’re doing this until the end of the month,” stated Rhoads. “We’re open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for anyone that would like to come in. And then Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.”

Various other businesses are also joining in and gathering money for the Lageman family. Jocelyn’s Countryside Boutique is doing a giveaway with a drawing being involved due to a number of participants, Identity Hair Salon is donating a portion of their profits to the family and L Designs Screen Printing and Custom Apparel is setting up a trust fund for Ryan’s daughter. Make sure to check out these fundraisers and many more as they develop.

Anyone that wants to give a donation can feel to buy a Ryan Tea at both locations, or to leave a donation at one of the jars. For those that prefer to do things digitally, feel free to Venmo them at inspierednutrition21@gmail.com or at championnutrition476@gmail.com.
