Riders tennis sweeps Kenton

The St. Marys boys tennis team recorded a 5-0 win over visiting Kenton at the Minster Bank courts on Thursday afternoon.

St. Marys improves to 5-2 in the Western Buckeye League and 10-2 overall. They have won seven of the last eight matches.

At first singles, Joey Vanderhors­t defeated Noah Ketcham of Kenton, 6-0, 6-0.

Aristide Brasille of St. Marys defeated Kenton’s Camden Hicks at second singles, 6-0, 6-2.

At third singles, Connor Milner won over Stone Sauber of the Wildcats, 6-1, 6-0.

The closest match came at first doubles with Rhett Chisholm and Isaac Wibbeler defeating Seth Manns and Mitchell Stephens of Kenton, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.

At second doubles, Cody Birt and Jaxton Spees won over Gage Buxton and Simon Lottman, 6-0, 6-2.

St. Marys will be off until Monday when they travel to Bath.
