WAPAKONETA — Bond hearings for the three individuals charged with aggravated murder in Auglaize County Municipal Court were vacated early in day, with no other action scheduled by the end of the day.

In the meantime, Anthony Theorodu, 33, posted 10 percent bond, a full $200,000, in combination with an own recognizance bond. He has hired Columbus attorneys Daniel J. Sabol and Chase A. Mallory from the Sabol Mallory firm to represent him. Anita Green 61, director of the county’s farm service agency and Amanda Hovanec, 34, remain in jail.

The three were arrested Thursday after investigators found the body of Timothy Hovanec, 36, near Blank

Pike and Wrestle Creek Road. Hovanec, who last resided in Herdon, Virginia, was reported missing after having spent the weekend in Auglaize County.

The Hovanecs were reportedly going through an acrimonious divorce, where records show several recent contempt complaints were filed.

Divorce records show abuse allegations against Timothy Hovenac involving bruising found on a child last November. That matter was investigated and closed with no charges. A tense battle over visitation arose as Timothy accused Amanda of coaching their children to go back inside her residence during scheduled custody exchanges, which were

also documented in police reports in 2022. Messages from Amanda show she believes their children were still afraid

of Timothy.

Multiple contempt allegations against Amanda Hovanec were set for a hearing April 22; the court then ordered those matters heard at a final hearing in June, while granting Timothy

Hovanec custody of their for the weekend.

Sunday after a courtapproved visitation. Anita Green, Amanda Hovanec’s mother, took the children into the residence, away from Timothy and Amanda.

It was at that time Amanda Hovanec allegedly injected Timothy Hovanec with an overdose of a synthetic opioid. Theorodou allegedly obtained the synthetic opioid and provided it to Amanda Hovanec.

Timothy Hovanec’s body was moved into the residence away from the children and into Green’s garage. Green allegedly drove Amanda Hovanec and Theorodou to dispose of the body.
