Cardinals host annual invite

NEW BREMEN — New Bremen hosted a large field with 11 girls teams and 12 boys teams earning points.

The Anna girls scored 131 points to take the team honors. Coldwater was second with 119. New Bremen finished fifth with 49.

For the boys, West Liberty-Salem had 151 points with Marion Local second at 137. New Bremen was in sixth place with 45 points.

BOYS

Patrick Bernhold finished second in the 800m run (2:03.90 and was third in the 1600m run (4:42.46).

Zach Wiedeman was third in the 3200 (10:21.36).

Mason Kuck was fifth in the discus (129-0).

Caden Puthoff was second (43-4 1/2) and Kuck was fifth (41-11 1/2) in shot put.

4x100 -- 6th (Hunter Schaefer, Haden Zeller, Kai Easthan, Brett Schaefer), 46.81

4x200 -- 9th (Zeller, Dylan Kremer, Brett Schaefer, Hunter Schaefer),

4x400 -- 8th (Patrick Bernhold, Zeller, Dylan Bambauer, Trevor Schaefer), 3:48.17

4x800 -- 4th (Bambauer, Bernhold, Zach Wiedeman, Cole Powers), 8:52.89.

GIRLS

Chloe Homan took first place in the 1600m run with a time of 5:33.77 and Caroline Whitlach was third (5:45.25).

Homan was fourth (2:31.32) and Whitlach sixth (2:34.34) in the 800.

Molly Dues finished third in the 3200 (12:37.74).

In field events, Homan was second in high jump (5-0).
