Riders tennis wins regular season finale
The St. Marys boys tennis team concluded the 2022 regular season on Monday afternoon with a 4-1 victory over visiting Lehman Catholic.
The Roughriders finished with an overall record of 12-3 and were 6-3 in the Western Buckeye League.
At first singles, Joey Vanderhorst of St. Marys defeated Sam Gilardi of Lehman, 6-3, 6-1.
At second singles, the Riders’ Aristide Brasille won over Thomas
White, 6-0, 6-0.
Third singles player Isaac Wibbeler also won in straight sets, defeating Logan Linson, 6-0, 6-0.
At first doubles, Connor Milner and Cody Birt defeated Lehman’s Brock Bostick and Josh George, 6-0, 6-3.
The Cavaliers got their one win in the second doubles match as Brandon James and Joe Pannapara defeated Rhett Chisholm and Jaxton Spees, 7-5, 7-5.
The Roughriders will next participate in the sectional tournament.
