Loans available through SMCF

-

Are you still trying to figure out how you will pay your college expenses next school year? Current Memorial High School seniors, as well as current St. Marys college students, are eligible for low-cost student loans through the St. Marys Community Foundation. All graduates of Memorial High School, who are planning to continue their education beyond high school, are encouraged to apply for the St. Marys Community Foundation loan program.

Community-minded citizens from the St. Marys area have made donations to be used for student loans to help St. Marys students with their college costs. The loans are interest free until nine (9) months after you complete your planned course of study. You would then have up to three (3) years to repay the loan at a 4% interest rate. Students in graduate school or a doctoral program may apply. Please consider these loans before you apply for a federal student loan or parent loan from the bank — it is a much better option.

To apply, go to the SMCF website and the Student Loan section. Deadline to apply is June 1. Please contact Mike Makley, loan administrator of the St. Marys Community Foundation, at 419-394-5693 or at smcf@bright.net with any questions.
