Summer Reading program begins at library
Catch a wave into the St. Marys Community Public Library and join them for Summer Reading 2022. All ages from infant through adult are invited to pick up a reading log at the library circulation desk and track time spent reading or listening to books. Your summer will be filled with porpoise and fun, and your completed log becomes an entry in a drawing for sharktastic and jawsome prizes!
The theme this year is “Oceans of Possibilities” – and it is fun for everyone.
· Beginning Friday, June 3, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., everyone is invited to a Summer Reading KickOff Party. The library will host an interactive viewing experience of the movie “Finding Nemo.” You’ve never seen it like this before: participants bring the movie to life, responding to cues in the movie – shouting out special lines, throwing props at the screen, and enjoying themed snacks. You can even wear a Nemo related costume if you want!
· Drop-In Crafts will take place all summer long. They begin on Monday, June 6, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The “so-fish-ticated” crafts take about a half hour to complete.
· Tuesday, June 7, weekly story times begin. Running from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. every Tuesday until the last summer story time on July 12, this is “shrimply” fun for little ones. Check the online calendar at SMCPL.org or follow the library on Facebook and never miss any of the library events. You may call 419-394-7471 or visit them at 140 South Chestnut Street.
