Hemmelgarn 10 Years Ago (2012) The St. Marys boys tennis team played in the Western Buckeye League tournament with some success, as the first doubles team of Josh Parker and Kevin Dammeyer placed fourth overall. As a team, the Roughrider­s finished in fifth place overall in the league match and were set to begin sectional play later in the week.

25 Years Ago (1997) The Minster softball team opened their postseason with an 8-2 victory in sectional tournament play over the Jefferson Wildcats. Minster plated two runs in the second inning, four in the third and one run in both the fourth and sixth frames to secure the win. Heather Roetgerman was the winning pitcher in the circle for the Orange and Black as they moved to 4-12 overall on the season. *

50 Years Ago (1972) The St. Marys golf team, aided by their strongest performanc­e of the season, advanced out of the sectional tournament by finishing in third place with a team score of 338. Bill Zink led the Roughrider­s with a score of 80, followed by Greg Urich who shot an 81. Kip Kipfer ended his day with an 86, while Tim Reier rounded out the St. Marys lineup with a 91 on 18 holes.
