BOULDERADO HOTEL

BOULDER COLORADO

-

Meet Hannah at the front desk. Coming from New York City, passionate by social work, she came to Boulder for her studies and then worked small jobs before answering an advertisement to work at the Boulderado’s front desk. Although she’s new in this position, she already has this warm welcoming attitude that makes all the di erence.

To quote Creighton Smith, the General Manager: “The art of welcoming guests must be genuine. you can’t fake it, you can’t learn it”. And if the sta is so welcoming it probably has to do with the GM’s attitude as well. His o ce is always open for everybody. Every hotel employee is important for him and knowing each and everyone of the 200 sta members is not optional.

Solid on its foundations the Boulderado Hotel is a pure gem in the state of Colorado. Built in 1909 by the four founding fathers of Boulder City. At that time they wanted to create the most luxurious hotel to attract travelers to their city. The succeeded, as more than one hundred years after, the hotel is a destination in itself. In the lobby, you are already amazed by the imposing cherry wood deck over your head, beautifully retained in its original state, it matches with the floor original as well. Look up and admire the magnificent stainedglass ceiling, restored in the 1960’s after a strom destroyed the original one.

Excellent room service, chilled champagne and warm service.

With three dining options each with a di erent ambiance, the Boulderado o ers di erent culinary adventures from the corner bar with the terrace, the spruce farm & fish diner experience and the license 1 bar. The food, coming from the same kitchen, is executed with passion and attention to details by Chef John Payne. He is working hard to create a simple and delicious dining experience. Working with local producers whenever he can, his kitchen serves a neat and understandable cuisine. Chef John places his pride in constantly improving and innovating in his food o ers.

Local beer and black mussels at the Corner Bar’s patio.

Red sofa, dimmed light, mysterious underground atmosphere, original furniture and live bands, let’s go back to the prohibition era at Licence 1 bar.

Meet Ti any, Bartender. You can ask her about the history of this speakeasy and learn everything about the art of cocktails. This bar is well known in Boulder for its regular events.

The Boulderado o ers two di erent experiences, from the quaint experience of the historical aisle to the recent building with more modern amenities. If you choose the historical rooms, we suggest you use the 1908 Otis elevator, one of the only nine remaining in operation, manually operated by a member of the sta .

Each one of the historical rooms has its own ambiance with a Victorian style wallpaper, linen, and vintage furniture. It’s like living in a di erent era. The maids are very proud to work in this historical aisle and some have been working here for thirty years.
