UBER FLYING TAXI
THE FUTURE OF TAXI
In the Sky
In October 2016, the “Uber Elevate” founding team published a comprehensive, first-principles analysis that breaks down the critical barriers to launching a scaled, aerial ridesharing product on Uber’s platform.
Over the next few years, Uber will continue to work closely with city and country stakeholders to create an aerial ridesharing network that’s intended to be safe, quiet, and environmentally conscious, and to support other transportation options.
In september 2019, Uber opened the first test site in Texas, right next to the Dallas Cowboys Headquarters. Recently announced, Melbourne joins Dallas and Los Angeles in becoming the first cities to offer Uber Air flights, with the goal of beginning demonstrator flights in 2020 and commercial operations in 2023.
