Vote for First Florida Credit Union Athlete of Week
Baldwin junior Kendall North is the Florida Times-Union’s latest First Florida Credit Union Athlete of the Week for the 2023-24 high school sports season, covering the week of March 4-9 in the Jacksonville area.
Playing first base, she batted .833 for the week with two doubles, two home runs, five runs scored and five RBI in softball victories against Middleburg and Bradford.
She placed first in a vote of top Northeast Florida performers that included Natalie Charyak (Creekside girls lacrosse), Devin Collins (Oakleaf boys track), Reef Davis (Fletcher boys tennis), London Jenkins (Fleming Island flag football), Jordan Martinez (Trinity Christian baseball), Bryce Potak (Menendez boys weightlifting), Maya Richards (Ponte Vedra girls basketball), Kyla Skinner (Mandarin girls track) and Adriah Tongkhuya (Tocoi Creek girls tennis).

Matthew Devine, Episcopal baseball
The junior batted .750 with a triple and four runs batted in as the Eagles defeated Bishop Snyder, University Christian and Hilliard.
Reese Green, West Nassau softball
The senior outfielder batted .571 for the week with two doubles, a home run, four RBI and three runs scored in victories over Hilliard and Baker County.
Andrew Marello, Wolfson boys track
The senior ran a personal best 4:19.14 to win the boys 1,600-meter run at the Bob Hayes Invitational Track Meet.
Rhett Printy, Atlantic Coast boys lacrosse
The senior attacker hit the 100-goal mark for his career and became the Stingrays’ all-time leading scorer with victories over Father Lopez and Stanton.
Ashley Purdy, Sandalwood flag football
The junior quarterback passed for 205 yards and four touchdowns and added an interception on defense in the Saints’ win over Englewood.
Jonathan Reeves, Christ’s Church boys tennis
The junior won his singles and doubles matches in the Eagles’ victories over Mandarin and Bishop Snyder.
Zyaire Thomas, Fletcher girls track
The sophomore ran a personal-best 55.03 to win the girls 400-meter run at Saturday’s Bob Hayes Invitational Track Meet.
