-

The Milwaukee Brewers placed two-time All-Star left fielder Christian Yelich on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday because of lower back strain.

Yelich, 32, has dealt with back issues over the course of his career, and missed the last three games after leaving during the Brewers’ 11-1 win at Baltimore on Friday.

Yelich started fast this season, batting .333 with a .422 on-base percentage and a .744 slugging percentage in 11 games. He hit five home runs with 11 RBIs in 39 at-bats.

In a corresponding move, Milwaukee recalled utility player Owen Miller, 27, from Triple-A Nashville. Miller, a Wisconsin native, hit .261 with five home runs in 90 games last season, his first in Milwaukee after two years with Cleveland. He played first, second and third base, outfield and designated hitter.

Braves’ Albies lands on IL

Atlanta Braves standout second baseman Ozzie Albies was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to a fractured right big toe.

Albies was injured when he was plunked on the toe by Houston Astros right-hander Spencer Arrighetti in the second inning of Monday’s 6-1 victory.

Albies, 27, remained in the contest Monday, but X-rays following the game displayed the fracture.

Veteran infield David Fletcher was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to fill the roster opening.

Albies, a three-time All-Star, is batting .317 with two homers and 14 RBIs in 15 games this season.

Albies established career bests of 33 homers and 109 RBIs last season. It marked the second 30-homer campaign and second 100-RBI season of his career.
