Eligible voters have been able to cast their ballot since Monday in Morgan County through the early voting at the Morgan County Administration Building in Fort Morgan, and many of them have already taken advantage.

According to data released by the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office Wednesday, 7,437 ballots had been returned in Morgan County through Tuesday. That’s nearly half the number of active registered voters in Morgan County during the November 2018 election.

Early voting has been running at regular business hours, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. all week, and there will be an extra weekend session where people can vote.

“Our vote center will be open and available on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to noon for voters to vote in person or drop by their ballots at our administration building, 231 Ensign

Street, Fort Morgan,” Morgan County Clerk Susan Bailey said.

The Thursday, Friday and Monday before the election will have early voting available during regular hours. Bailey said many voters may prefer to vote early through either in-person early voting, or by dropping off their ballot at one of the three drop boxes at the Morgan County Administration Building, Brush City Hall or Wiggins Town Hall.

“Wait times on Election Day will be long given we are mandated by the state to comply with COVID safety precautions, social distancing and sanitizing measures will be enforced,” Bailey said.

Polls will open at 7 a.m. on election day and close at 7 p.m. Voters can cast their ballot at one of three different polling centers.

“There will be three vote centers available on Election Day, locations being Brush Fairgrounds, Wiggins Fire Hall, and the Morgan County Administration building in the basement,” Bailey said.
