Halloweekend in Morgan County
Communities have slate of activities planned for Halloween
Halloween is quickly approaching and there are a number of options for families in Morgan County to enjoy some fun fall activities. Whether you’re looking to find safe alternatives for trick or treating or are just wanting to make the most of the holiday, there are a number of events in Fort Morgan, Brush and Log Lane Village.
Friday
There will be several activities hosted in Brush on Friday from both the Brush Chamber of Commerce and Brush School District.
At 3:30 p.m. Trick or Treat Trail will begin in downtown Brush, where 28 businesses have signed up to hand out candy to children so far. The event will end at 5:30 p.m.
“What I’ll have is a list published for the trick or treat goers of different locations so they know who’s participating,” Executive Director of the
Brush Chamber of Commerce said. “It’s open to everybody; you don’t have to be a chamber member to be a part of it.”
Later, at 4 p.m., Trick or Treat Street at the Brush Secondary Campus will also hand out candy and have different activities for kids. Trick or Treat Street will end at 6 p.m. and occupancy will be limited to follow CDC guidelines.
Log Lane Village will host a family friendly haunted house from 7 to 10 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday at the town hall.
Saturday
On Saturday the fun starts in Fort Morgan at 12:30 p.m. with a free showing of Hotel Transylvania at Cover 4 theater. The first 50 attendees will get a free bag of popcorn.
From 2 to 5 p.m. Trick or Treat Street will start in downtown Fort Morgan, where participating businesses will give away candy trick or treaters. Simultaneously, the Halloween Spooktacular outside the Route 34 Diner on Platte Avenue will have free kids’ grab bags, a bounce house, games and prizes, hot drinks, food, cupcakes, creative vendors, face painting and more.
In Log Lane Village there will be a Trunk or Treat competition, where people will compete for the best Halloween decorations on their car, starting at 3 p.m. There will also be a competition for best costumes for kids aged 0-8, 9-12 and 13-18.
Elevating Life Church in Fort Morgan will be hosting their own Trunk or Treat competition, starting at 5 p.m. There will be games and candy for kids, in what they said was a safe alternative to trick or treating.
Other churches will also have seasonal activities, like the Fall Fun Fest at Morgan Church of the Nazarene where there will be candy for kids and activities like the outdoor Bible walk starting at 4 p.m.
