4-H air rifle and air pistol shoots held July 18

15 Morgan County shooters participat­ed

Fifteen Morgan County 4-H shooters gathered for their County Fair air rifle and air pistol shoot on July 18 at the Multi-purpose Building at the Morgan County Fairground­s in Brush, according to results from the Morgan County CSU Extension.

Individual champions and place finishers were determined in all air rifle and air pistol shooting discipline­s. The shoot also determined who the county representa­tives would be at the Colorado State 4-H Shooting Championsh­ips in August.

Shooters were grouped as juniors (ages 8-13) and seniors (ages 14-18). A total of four different air rifle shooting classes were available at both the junior and senior levels. A single contest was held in air pistol shooting. The top six shooters in each class will comprise the Morgan County team in that class at the state shoot. Should a shooter elect to not participat­e in the state event, the next highest scoring shooter will be asked to join the team in that discipline. Top finishers in junior 3 Position Internatio­nal were: Riley Thomas, first; Soul Keller, second; Saxson Keller, third; Shylynn Larrick, fourth; Rylan Schreiner, fifth; and Chad Schilling, sixth.

Senior 3 Position Internatio­nal finishers were: Danielle Moon, first;

Talan Hall, second; Madison Thomas, third; Ethan Bohl, fourth; Johnathan Eggleston, fifth; and Wiley Eicher, sixth.

Junior 4 Position Sporter winners were: Riley Thomas, first; Saxson Keller, second; Rylee Stevens, third; Soul Keller, fourth; Rylan Schreiner, fifth; and Chad Schilling, sixth. Also competing for the juniors were: Arisa Eicher, Kaine Eicher, Tyson Fox and Shylynn Larrick.

Senior 4 Position Sporter finishers were: Danielle Moon, first; Ethan Bohl, second; Madison Thomas, third; Talan Hall, fourth; Wiley Eicher, fifth; and Johnathan Eggleston, sixth.

Olympic Offhand junior champions were: Rylee Stevens, first; Riley Thomas, second; Saxson Keller, third; Shylynn Larrick, fourth; Soul Keller, fifth; and Chad Schilling, sixth. Rylan Schreiner also competed for the juniors.

Olympic Offhand senior champions were: Danielle Moon, first; Talan Hall,

second; Johnathan Eggleston, third; Ethan Bohl, fourth; Madison Thomas, fifth; and Wiley Eicher, sixth.

Air Rifle Utility Class junior winners were: Riley Thomas, first; Saxson Keller, second; Rylee Stevens, third; Chad Schilling, fourth; Soul Keller, fifth; and Kaine Eicher, sixth. Arisa Eicher, Tyson Fox, Shylynn Larrick, Trayne Mese and Rylan Schreiner also shot at the junior level.

Senior Air Rifle Utility champions were: Danielle Moon, first; Ethan Bohl, second; Madison Thomas, third; Talan Hall, fourth; Wiley Eicher, fifth; and Jonathan Eggleston, sixth.

An air pistol shoot was also held in conjunctio­n with the air rifle contest.

Junior winners were: Shylynn Larrick, first; Rylan Schreiner, second; and Chad Schilling, third. Senior air pistol champions were: Talan Hall, first; Wiley Eicher, second; and Jonathan Eggleston, third.

4-H Air Rifle coaches are: Karl Dahle, Ryan Eggleston, DJ Eicher and Kourtney Venzke. Owen and Danielle Eggleston coach the air pistol shooters.
