Spooky, fun events galore...

Free movies Thursday, Trick or Treat Street Friday in Brush, Trick or Treat Trail Saturday in Fort Morgan, plus more across the county

There are many spooky and fun things happening around Morgan County in coming days that are related to Halloween.

On Thursday, Oct. 28, there is a profession­al circus with a Halloween theme, called Circus Monster Mash, that is offering two shows at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Morgan County Fairground­s in Brush for those who pay for tickets. Cost is $15 for adults and $5 for children.

There also are free movies being shown Thursday, Oct. 28, at Fort Morgan Library & Museum and at the Cover 4 Theatre in Fort Morgan. Classic movie “The Wolf Man” will be shown at 5:30 p.m. in the Howard Rollin Memorial Community Room at the library/ museum, and “The Grudge” is at 7 p.m. at the Cover 4 and is free to watch as Elevating Life Church is sponsoring it.

Brush has several Halloween events happening Friday, Oct. 29. First up is the kids’ costume parade during the 10:15 a.m. Story Time session at East Morgan County Library.

Brush Trick or Treat Street happens from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at various

businesses around the city, including those in downtown on Clayton Street and elsewhere in Brush. In many cases, tables and booths will be set up outside of the businesses. Others may have trick-or-treaters come inside to get their treats. This event is organized by the Brush Area Chamber of Commerce/ Brush Main Street.

Also during this time, there will be trick or treating offered at Brush Secondary Campus for the Brush High School Trick or Treat Street.

Brush Haunted Stables & Pumpkin Patch, located at 18549 County Road 27 near Brush, will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. Haunted Stables begin at 7 p.m. each of these nights. Cost is $15 per person for the haunted house, where people walk through the stables, and there is a kiddie land and pumpkin patch. Cost is $15 per person.

Pope Farms Corn MAiZE and Pumpkin Patch, located at 19502 County Road 3 near Wiggins, offers a variety of fun events and activities, with hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Plus, the Haunted Maze is at dark through Saturday night. Cost varies by what people want to do, for prices visit www.popefarmsc­ornmaize.com/price-list.

On Saturday, Oct. 30, there are many events lined up in Fort Morgan, starting at Cover 4 Theatre at noon with the a Halloween costume contest and then a showing of “Monster House” at 12:30 p.m. These events are sponsored by Elevating Life Church.

A Halloween Trunk or Treat will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Charles Episcopal Church, 505 E. Eighth Ave., in Fort Morgan.

From 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, there will be an Open House and Trunk or Treat at ELC Community Complex (the old Fort Morgan armory building), 528 State St., in Fort Morgan.

The annual Trick or Treat Trail happens from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at various Fort Morgan businesses. Look for tables/booths set up outside businesses, where candy and other treats will be given away.

Fort Morgan High School will open its doors from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday for Haunted Hallways. Students involved in clubs at FMHS are decorating each school hallway with either scary or non-scary Halloween decor, making this an all-ages event for to walking through the hallways and trick-or-treating.

Depending on the weather, the City of Fort Morgan plans to offer a free showing of “Hocus Pocus” at 6 p.m. in Fort Morgan City Park on the big, inflatable screen.

From 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., The Hall will offer its first Halloween party for ages 21 and up at 204 W. Beaver Ave. in Fort Morgan.

There will be a cash bar, prizes for top three costumes, music, drinks and more.

On Sunday, Oct. 31, the Morgan Church of the Nazarene will offer its annual Fall Fun Fest from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the gym behind the church at 221 W. Seventh Ave. in Fort Morgan. There will be food, games, a Bible walk and prizes. It is open to the public, and wearing costumes is welcomed.
