Falcons vs. Sheriff’s Office

On Oct. 14, the Morgan County Special Olympics basketball team, the Falcons, faced off against the Sheriff’s Office, a team made up of law enforcement members.

Morgan County Sheriff Dave Martin had the following to say about the game:

“A month or so ago, I was contacted by a representative of the Special Olympics and asked if anyone from my agency would be interested in playing a game of basketball against their team.

“Not really knowing who

in my agency would be interested, I told them I would have to get back with them. I sent an email to all staff, no one was excluded. Not that I am surprised, but my staff stepped up again. I received an overwhelming response from staff that wanted to play.

“Today was game day. My staff played against a team of the biggest hearts I think I have ever met. Their team has touched the hearts of all our staff and we are forever grateful for this opportunity.”
