Kris Arthur Johnson, Fort Morgan resident, passed away April 13, 2022.

He was born on May 19, 1954 in Evanston, Wyoming to Wayne and Frances ( Ewer) Johnson, the youngest of four children. He attended and graduated from Evanston High School in 1972. He attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. Kris married the love of his life, Sheri Ryan, on August 28, 1976. They had two beautiful sons in Evanston before relocating to Fort Morgan, Colorado in 1984.

Kris worked in oil- field related companies for several years. On April 1, 1995, he started Intermount­ain Valve & Controls in Denver, Colorado, a branch of Bray Internatio­nal, which provided valve and automation systems to diverse industries. He was an excellent leader, known for his honesty, integrity and fairness. He built a successful company which continues today. Kris played competitiv­e sports throughout his life. He enjoyed coaching youth sports programs for many years. He loved playing golf anywhere and everywhere, listening to good music; especially classic rock and roll, watching the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies, traveling with his family and friends, attending rock concerts and wineries, grilling on his patio and enjoying a nice glass of wine. His pride and joy were his sons, Kristopher Ryan and Gregory Wayne, his daughter- in- law Shondel Renee and granddaugh­ters Leah Cameron and Haley Joy. He was the happiest when he was with his family and watching his granddaugh­ters participat­e in their various sports and music activities.

He is survived by brothers Douglas Wayne Johnson of Sandy, Utah and George Randall ( Donna) Johnson of Layton, Utah and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kent Alan Johnson.
