Storybook Hour launches today at Axis Coffee Bar and Eatery

The Fresno Bee (Sunday) - - Real Estate -

At the heart of Town Center at Tesoro Viejo — Madera County’s newest master-planned community — is Axis Coffee Bar and Eatery, a gathering place for family and friends. Located just east off Highway 41 and minutes north of River Park Shopping Center, Axis is the place to connect with

family and friends in a warm and inviting environment.

Bring out the kids for the first Storybook Hour at Axis at noon today, Saturday, March 30. Princesses Elsa and Anna will be there to read stories to the kids and 25 percent of the day’s proceeds will benefit Valley Children’s Healthcare.

A true community partner, Axis hosted Coffee & Canines last week where SPCA attended with dogs for adoption, and four dogs found their forever homes. At Axis, there’s something for everyone. It’s more than coffee — Axis proudly offers local craft beers and an interesting wine list this

is carefully curated and always changing.

Eclectic and lively, Axis offers fair-trade coffee sourced from around the world. The inviting space with rich colors and textures inspires leisurely coffee dates with friends and a relaxing glass of wine or craft beer in the evenings — don’t miss Wine Wednesdays where all wines are half-off.

The food menu at Axis is thoughtfully sourced and utilizes organic and local produce and meats as much as possible. Menu items evolve with the seasons and will include housemade baked goods as well as breakfast burritos, avocado toasts, açai bowls, salads, grain bowls, sandwiches, soups and more.

Axis is owned by Casey and Lindsay Hawkins who also own the popular South Gate Brewery in Oakhurst. South Gate Brewing Company was established in 2011, and started with a five-barrel brew house in a former car dealership that they remodeled themselves. The San Diego transplants fell in love with the foothill community and knew it was the place for them to build their business.

They have won multiple gold, silver and bronze medals from various events, including the gold medal at the San Diego International Beer Festival for its Oaktown Pecan Brown. But, they do more than beer with its elevated gastro pub cuisine with farm to table elements.

When the opportunity to be a part of the newest master-planned community in Madera County was presented, the Hawkins jumped right in and opened the first business in the Town Center at Tesoro Viejo with its Axis Coffee Bar and Eatery.

Nestled at the foot of Little Table Mountain, Tesoro Viejo is a breathtaking site of about 1,600 acres of gently rolling hills and vistas located east of Highway 41 and just minutes north of River Park.

The community has been thoughtfully designed to capture its scenic surroundings. Tesoro Viejo includes nearly 200 acres of permanently preserved natural open spaces plus an additional 200 acres or more of neighborhood parks, recreational areas and miles of trails that will connect to the San Joaquin River.

The Town Center at Tesoro Viejo was designed to capture that small-town feeling of Main Street. Axis is located in the heart of the Town Center, which is also home to the Madera County Fire Station No. 7 and a Madera County Sheriff sub-station.

Model homes at Tesoro Viejo are now open, featuring four new neighborhoods by two legendary builders, McCaffrey Homes and D. R. Horton. Come tour the nine professionally decorated models open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
