“NEW AMSTERDAM: SEASON ONE”

The Fresno Bee (Sunday) - - On Tv -

Among the new series successes of the past television year was this NBC medical drama, casting “The Blacklist” alum Ryan Eggold as a hospital’s new medical director who immediately dismantles the facility’s hierarchical status quo – his aim being the maximum benefit for patients as he challenges today’s health-care system. Naturally, some resent his sudden renovations, while others see him as the savior for the sort of medical care they want to be able to administer. Co-stars include Janet Montgomery, Freema Agyeman and Tyler Labine, with Ron Rifkin (“Alias’) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (”Heroes“) among recurring guest stars. The show’s second season begins next month. ★★★ (Not rated: AS, P)
