In this suc­ces­sor to “The White Queen” and “The White Princess,” Cather­ine of Aragon is the princess of the ti­tle in the Starz drama se­ries, as played by Char­lotte Hope (“Game of Thrones”). The tale ad­dresses is­sues of gen­der, race and class in the Lon­don of the 16th cen­tury, as Cather­ine schemes to get what she be­lieves is right­fully hers af­ter the death of her hus­band: the throne of Eng­land, which ap­pears des­tined to go to the then-fu­ture King Henry VIII (Ruain O’Con­nor). The cast also in­cludes Dame Har­riet Wal­ter – seen re­cently in the PBS “Great Per­for­mances” pre­sen­ta­tion of “Julius Cae­sar” – Stephanie Levi-John, Na­dia Parkes, Laura Carmichael (“Downton Abbey”) and Aaron Cob­ham. Slated to con­tinue next year, the saga is based on the nov­els “The King’s Curse” and “The Con­stant Princess” by Philippa Gre­gory. ★★★ (Not rated: AS, V) (Also on Blu-ray)
