Buchanan High football star Kendall Milton suffered an injury that kept him sidelined the majority of the Bears’ game against Bullard on Friday night.

Milton, a five-star recruit who is a Georgia commit, sustained the injury after a 20-yard run early in the first quarter.

He got up slow, went to the sideline after the play and never reentered.

Buchanan went on to beat Bullard 28-14.

Afterward, Bears coach Matt Giordano confirmed that Milton suffered a quad injury and his status is considered day-to-day.

“We’re just going to take it one day at a time with him,” Giordano said. “He’s very disappointed especially on senior night that happened. But you know what? He was excited (for his teammates) and is a good teammate.”

At the start of the second half, Milton remained in uniform, though on the sideline, and wore a red wrap around his right thigh.

Milton is one the most highly recruited players in Central Section history, receiving offers from most of the nation’s top college programs.

He considered his top choices to be Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana State and Ohio State.
