“TELL ME A STORY: SEASON ONE”

The Fresno Bee (Sunday) - - View From The Couch -

Some of the most classic fairy tales, particularly those with a penchant for horror, get a reworking in this CBS All Access series. “The Three Little Pigs,” “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Hansel and Gretel” are the ones rebooted in this inaugural round, with Billy Magnussen – who also will appear in the next James Bond movie – as a human incarnation of the Wolf who threatened Red Riding Hood. He’s a teacher who preys upon one of his students (Danielle Campbell), but there’s also another humanized wolf around ... a vengeance-seeking restaurateur (James Wolk, “Zoo”). Creator and executive producer Kevin Williamson again casts Paul Wesley (“The Vampire Diaries”) here, with Dania Ramirez, Sam Jaeger (“Parenthood”) and Kim Cattrall also featured. The show’s second season begins streaming soon. ★★★ (Not rated: AS, P, V)
