It’s a veritable cornucopia of culinary programming on Food Network and Cooking Channel

Whether it’s burgers or bird, carbs or confections, there’s something for just about everyone in culinary programming this week on Food Network and Cooking Channel.

That’s certainly the case with the Sunday, Oct. 6, episode of Food’s “Girl Meets Farm.” As the title “Midwest Oktoberfest” suggests, host Molly Yeh is hard at work in her Minnesota kitchen preparing her favorite German-inspired dishes including a crispy chicken schnitzel, a mustardy German potato salad with bacon and braised red cabbage. Break out the lederhosen.

Also that day on Cooking Channel, a visit to the Wisconsin State Fair is in order for host Noah Cappe of “Carnival Eats,” where he samples a Wisconsin hot chicken bomb, a French onion soup’r stick and the state’s signature cocktail transformed into a deep-fried dessert. And immediately following on “Food Paradise,” pork is what’s on the menu at several restaurants offering outsized dishes of the meat.

Speaking of major meals, the Tuesday, Oct. 8, edition of Cooking’s “Man v. Food” finds host Casey Webb in Santa Barbara, Calif., to take on a two-pound portion of steamed local crab, a tri-tip steak sandwich with homemade barbecue sauce and apple horseradish, and a challenge of eight cheeseburger sliders with a pile of tot-chos. Pass the antacid, please.

The season finale of “Man’s Greatest Food” Wednesday, Oct. 9, on Cooking Channel, sees host Roger Mooking walking viewers through his list of the country’s 15 best desserts, be they chocolate-y, fruity or just downright decadent. Then on “Delicious Destinations,” host Andrew Zimmern heads to Panama City to check out classic tastes inspired by the city’s blended cultures, from fried whole fish with plantains to citrus ceviche and yucca fritters packed with steak.

Friday, Oct. 11, on Food’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” finds host Guy Fieri sampling chicken and biscuits at a Santa Fe, N.M., pub, wild boar spaetzle in Reno, Nev., and bagel sandwiches with an imaginative bent in Cambridge, Mass.

Fieri is also front and center of the Saturday, Oct. 12, edition of Food’s “Guy’s Ranch Kitchen,” in which he challenges his chef friends to apply their creative chops to the basic hamburger. The result? Antonia Lofaso’s sirloin, brisket and braised oxtail burger, Carl Ruiz’s chorizo and beef burger and Justin Warner’s kofta burger smothered in feta cheese sauce and cheeseburger egg roll.

Also that day on Food, Trisha Yearwood prepares her takes on county fair favorites with comestibles such as mini corn dogs, cotton candy lemonade slushies, soft pizza pretzels and a funnel cake ice cream sandwich. Yum!
