MONDAY

The Fresno Bee (Sunday) - - On Tv -

8 p.m. on 59.1 KFRE All American

After his team wins the state championship, Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) faces a thorny decision that could radically revise his reputation as this sports drama opens its sophomore season with “Hussle & Motivate.” Elsewhere, Grace and Corey (Karimah Westbrook, Chad L. Coleman) have a difficult conversation about their family, while Billy (Taye Diggs) is painfully aware that he desperately needs to make some big changes to get his life back on track. Samantha Logan and Michael Evans Behling also star.

9 p.m. on 18.1 KVPT Retro Report on PBS

Journalist Celeste Headlee and artist Masud Olufani co-host this new one-hour newsmagazine, which airs Monday and Tuesday nights through October and attempts to provide historical context to stories many Americans know only from headlines that flash by and then vanish in the nonstop 24-hour news cycle. New Yorker humorist Andy Borowitz lightens the mood with his nightly observations. The premiere explores how the addictive power of social media might be better understood through the lens of some 1950s psychological experiments.

9 p.m. on 59.1 KFRE Black Lightning

The Season 3 premiere, “The Book of Occupation: Chapter One: Birth of Blackbird,” shows us Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) as never before: specifically, in the ASA’s hands, along with wife Lynn (Christine Adams), as Agent Odell (guest star Bill Duke) tightens the screws a little more. That leaves Jennifer (China Anne McClain) feeling abandoned and Freeland without Black Lightning and Thunder. In her Blackbird guise, however, Anissa (Nafessa Williams) may be able to help.

9 p.m. on BRAV Below Deck

Captain Lee Rosbach, chief stewardess Kate Chastain and bosun Ashton Pienaar reunite for Season 7, which takes the mega-yacht Valor and her crew to Thailand for new adventures. New crew members include chef Kevin Dobson, second stew Simone Mashile, third stew Courtney Skippon, lead deckhand Brian de Saint Pern, and deckhands Abbi Murphy and Tanner Sterback. Fans will quickly notice that chef Kevin’s strict kitchen rules and service requirements are on a collision course with Kate’s stewardess style, so expect fireworks there.
