Sher­iff: Dad threat­ened to ‘shoot up’ school

A Woodville fa­ther was ar­rested for al­legedly threat­en­ing to “shoot up” his child’s ele­men­tary school, the Tu­lare County Sher­iff’s Of­fice re­ported Thurs­day.

Casey Crisler, 37, was ar­rested for al­leged threats made against Woodville Ele­men­tary School in Woodville, west of Porter­ville.

Deputies ar­rived at the ele­men­tary school Wed­nes­day af­ter a re­ceiv­ing a re­port that Crisler threat­ened the school. Woodville Ele­men­tary was locked down. De­tec­tives said they later dis­cov­ered the threat was made within the past month but still be­lieved it to be cred­i­ble.

Crisler agreed to meet with de­tec­tives and was ar­rested in Porter­ville on Wed­nes­day.

The sher­iff’s of­fice said it has “zero tol­er­ance for any threats of vi­o­lence against schools.”
