Paris Saint-Germain have stepped up their summer recruitment by signing the Inter full-back Achraf Hakimi, with Sergio Ramos and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma set to join on free transfers.

PSG are paying Inter an initial €60m (£51.3m) for Hakimi, plus up to €11m in add-ons, and hehas signed a contract to 2026. “I feel a great sense of pride,” the 22 year-old said. Hakimi came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid and also spent two seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund before joining Inter in 2020.

“After Spain, Germany and Italy, Paris Saint-Germain offers me the chance to discover a new championship with one of the most prestigious clubs in the world,” Hakimi added. The Morocco international is one of the players leaving Inter as part of the Italian champions’ push for greater financial stability.

Ramos will undergo a medical before signing for Mauricio Pochettino’s

side on a two-year contract after leaving Real Madrid. Donnarumma has agreed a PSG deal to 2026 after his

Milan contract expired. The 22-yearold is due to play for Italy on Tuesdayin their Euro 2020 semi-final against

Spain.

Ramos spent 16 years at Madrid, playing 671 games and winning five league titles and four European Cups, but he was unable to reach an agreement with the president, Florentino Pérez, to extend his deal.

The centre-half missed most of the second half of last season after a series of muscle injures and a knee problem that required surgery and has played seven games for Madrid and Spain in 2021. That led to his omission from his country’s Euro 2020 squad but PSG are confident in his fitness.

PSG are also hoping to extend the Everton striker Moise Kean’s loan by another season but are waiting for a decision from the Premier League club that will be influenced by the new manager, Rafael Benítez. PSG have already signed the former Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer this summer.

The club are looking to respond under Pochettino to a disappointing season when they finished runners-up to Lille and went out of the Champions League in the semi-finals to Manchester City.
