Tues­day af­ter­noon Wil­son Smith, of the Ham­burg Boiler Works, re­ceived a tele­gram with a Christ­mas Mes­sage to the em­ploy­ees of his plant, which man­u­fac­ture boil­ers for de­fense pur­poses. The mes­sage: The Gov­ern­ment Christ­mas Greet­ing from Wash­ing­ton D. C., to the Men and Women of the Ham­burg Boiler Works, Inc., Ham­burg PA. On this sa­cred day of our Lord we, the sol­diers on the fir­ing line, give thanks to you sol­diers on the pro­duc­tion line, for the sinews of war that made Vic­tory pos­si­ble. We are ded­i­cat­ing this Christ­mas Day to the de­feat of our en­e­mies— yes, this Christ­mas Day, the day af­ter and ev­ery day there­after un­til we es­tab­lish peace on earth and good will to men. “Glass Key” star­ring Brian Don­leavy, Veron­ica Lake and Alan Ladd will be fea­tured Christ­mas Day; “The Ma­jor and The Mi­nor” star­ring Gin­ger Rogers and Ray Mil­land will be fea­tured Dec. 26 at the Ham­burg Strand.
