El­iz­a­beth Corotto James Fye Theresa M. Kuntz Robert Lawrence

Robert Lawrence, 84, of Har­leigh passed away Mon­day in Le­high Val­ley Hospi­tal-Cedar Crest.

Born in Black Creek Twp., he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Spi­chock) Lawrence.

Bob worked for the Sears Corp. un­til it closed the lo­cal store and was a mem­ber of Queen of Heaven Parish.

He served in the U.S. Army and was sta­tioned in the Panama Canal Zone dur­ing the 1950s.

Bob was a 1952 grad­u­ate of Hazleton High School.

Pre­ced­ing him in death, in ad­di­tion to his par­ents, were his wife, Kath­leen “Bub­bles” (Gen­erose) Lawrence; broth­ers-in-law, Joseph Gen­erose Jr., William Gen­erose, Louis Turse and James Berta; and sis­ter-in-law, Carmella Turse.

Sur­viv­ing are his daugh­ter, Nancy Palermo and hus­band, Charles, Weatherly; son, Robert Lawrence Jr. and wife, Kim­berly, Drums; grand­sons, Dante and Do­minic Palermo; sis­ters-in-law, Mar­garet Gen­erose, Lat­timer; and An­toinette Berta, St. Clair Shores, Mich.; and many nieces, neph­ews and cousins.

The fu­neral will be held Satur­day at 9 a.m. from Fierro Fu­neral Home, 26 W. Se­cond St., Hazleton, fol­lowed by burial ser­vices at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church at Queen of Heaven Parish, Hazleton.

In­ter­ment will fol­low at Cal­vary Ceme­tery, Drums.

Friends may call to­day from 5 to 8 p.m. at the fu­neral home.

In lieu of flow­ers, dona­tions may be made in book form at the Hazleton Area Pub­lic Li­brary, the Hazleton His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety or Hazleton Elks Lodge 200, all in the mem­ory of Bob.
