No tax in­crease for East Union Twp.

East Union Twp. su­per­vi­sors ten­ta­tively ap­proved a 2019 bud­get that calls for no tax in­crease Wed­nes­day.

The $991,192 spend­ing plan starts with a be­gin­ning bal­ance of $184,691 and to­tal rev­enue of $806,501. Rev­enue sources in­clude prop­erty tax, $235,820; other tax, $442,670; non-tax rev­enue, $52,011 and in­ter­fund trans­fers, $76,000.

Ex­pen­di­tures in­clude pub­lic ser­vices, $143,224; pay­roll and pay­roll taxes, $263,450; op­er­at­ing ex­penses, $165,245; debt re­pay­ments, $37,876; and in­ter­fund trans­fer, $76,000. Net in­come comes in at $120,706, and the pro­jected end­ing bal­ance is $305,397.

The mill­age rate re­mains at 2.45 mills. The bud­get is open for pub­lic in­spec­tion at the town­ship mu­nic­i­pal build­ing and fi­nal adop­tion is planned for Dec. 27 at 6 p.m.
