Woman caught with stolen goods

A wanted Ber­wick woman was caught with more than $1,100 in stolen mer­chan­dise when ap­pre­hended for shoplift­ing at a Ha­zle Twp. store.

Kasan­dra L. Fen­ton, 31, was charged with re­ceiv­ing stolen prop­erty, re­tail theft and false re­ports by state po­lice at Ha­zle­ton. The charges were filed against her Nov. 1 and bail was set at $1,000 Nov. 27 at Luzerne County Cen­tral Court, Wilkes-Barre.

Ac­cord­ing to ar­rest pa­pers, loss pre­ven­tion work­ers at Boscov’s in Lau­rel Mall took $1,181 in mer­chan­dise and ex­ited the store on Oct. 26. Fen­ton gave po­lice a false name but troop­ers found out her real iden­tity when they checked her fin­ger­prints and learned she was wanted by state pa­role, court pa­pers state.
