Heights-Ter­race stu­dents at band event

On Nov. 30, five mid­dle school stu­dents from Heights-Ter­race El­e­men­tary/Mid­dle School rep­re­sented the school at the Mary­wood Ju­nior Wind Band Cel­e­bra­tion at Mary­wood Univer­sity, Scran­ton. These stu­dents, along with 320 sev­enth- through ninth-grade stu­dents from 54 mid­dle and high schools, par­tic­i­pated in the two-day fes­ti­val. Af­ter com­plet­ing a suc­cess­ful au­di­tion, the stu­dents were placed into one of the three fes­ti­val bands. Stu­dents had the chance to work with re­spected mu­sic ed­u­ca­tors and clin­i­cians for two days be­fore per­form­ing a con­cert Dec. 1 at the Sette LaVerghetta Cen­ter at Mary­wood.
