Alana M. Rizzo weds Anthony F. Carusotto
Alana Marie Rizzo and Anthony Fiorindo Carusotto were united in the sacrament of marriage in the presence of family and friends on May 19 at Sacred Heart Church, Weston.
The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Patrick D. McDowell.
The bride is the daughter of Samuel and Barbara Rizzo, Eagle Rock. She is the granddaughter of the late Stanley and Anna Wozniak, Exeter, and the late James and Pauline Rizzo, Pittston.
The groom is the son of Anthony and Linda Carusotto, Richmond, Massachussetts. He is the grandson of the late Rose and Fiorindo Castagna Jr., Richmond, Massachussetts, and Anthony and Marilyn Carusotto, Pittsfield, Massachussetts.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and chose her sister and best friend, Tianna Bolinsky, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Christie Carusotto, sister of the groom; Lindsey Welsh, cousin of the bride; Ashley Adler, cousin of the groom; Beth Dougherty, Brittney Edwards, Stephanie Garnjost, Alissa Glezen, and Jaime Turano, all long time friends of the bride. The couple chose Braelyn Bolinsky, niece and godchild of the bride, as the flower girl.
The groom chose his lifelong best friend, Bobby Dougherty, as the best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Adler, cousin of the groom; James Wozniak, cousin of the bride; Kevin Welsh, cousin of the bride; Joseph Bolinsky, brother-in-law of the bride; Dustin Day, Brian Dougherty, and Josh Turano, all friends of the groom. The couple chose Grant Killingsworth, cousin of the bride, as the ring bearer.
Scripture readings were given by Paula Welsh, cousin of the bride and Stanley Wozniak, godfather of the bride. Offertory gifts were presented by Maryann Adler, godmother of the groom, and Charles Carusotto, godfather of the groom.
The wedding music was coordinated by Mary Ann Schultz, aunt of the bride. Soloist was the Rev. Lenny G. Kassick, accompanied by a violinist and organist.
Following the wedding ceremony, an evening cocktail hour and reception was held at Sand Springs Country Club, Drums.
The bride was honored with two bridal showers, both given by the mothers of the bride and the groom, sisters and bridesmaids. One was held at Edgewood in the Pines, Drums; the other in Pittsfield, Massschussetts, at The Italian American Club of Pittsfield. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the bride and groom at Booty’s Place, Hazleton.
The bride is a 2009 graduate of Hazleton Area High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in computer science in 2012 and doctorate degree in physical therapy from Misericordia University in 2015. She is employed as a physical therapist by Geisinger Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Scranton. She is also an online instructor for PT Final Exam.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Taconic High School, Pittsfield, Massachussetts. He earned his master’s degree in physical therapy in 2010 and doctorate degree in physical therapy from Misericordia University in 2012. He is employed as a faculty member of the University of Scranton’s doctorate of physical therapy program. In addition to teaching, he is currently pursuing his doctoral degree in education at Drexel University, Philadelphia.
Following the wedding, the couple honeymooned in Italy. They now reside in Dallas.
