Alana M. Rizzo weds An­thony F. Caru­sotto

Alana Marie Rizzo and An­thony Fiorindo Caru­sotto were united in the sacra­ment of mar­riage in the pres­ence of fam­ily and friends on May 19 at Sa­cred Heart Church, We­ston.

The dou­ble-ring cer­e­mony was per­formed by the Rev. Pa­trick D. McDow­ell.

The bride is the daugh­ter of Sa­muel and Bar­bara Rizzo, Ea­gle Rock. She is the grand­daugh­ter of the late Stan­ley and Anna Woz­niak, Ex­eter, and the late James and Pauline Rizzo, Pittston.

The groom is the son of An­thony and Linda Caru­sotto, Rich­mond, Mas­sachus­setts. He is the grand­son of the late Rose and Fiorindo Castagna Jr., Rich­mond, Mas­sachus­setts, and An­thony and Mar­i­lyn Caru­sotto, Pitts­field, Mas­sachus­setts.

The bride was es­corted down the aisle by her fa­ther and chose her sis­ter and best friend, Tianna Bolin­sky, as her ma­tron of honor. Brides­maids were Christie Caru­sotto, sis­ter of the groom; Lind­sey Welsh, cousin of the bride; Ash­ley Adler, cousin of the groom; Beth Dougherty, Brit­tney Ed­wards, Stephanie Garn­jost, Alissa Glezen, and Jaime Tu­rano, all long time friends of the bride. The cou­ple chose Brae­lyn Bolin­sky, niece and god­child of the bride, as the flower girl.

The groom chose his life­long best friend, Bobby Dougherty, as the best man. Grooms­men were Ryan Adler, cousin of the groom; James Woz­niak, cousin of the bride; Kevin Welsh, cousin of the bride; Joseph Bolin­sky, brother-in-law of the bride; Dustin Day, Brian Dougherty, and Josh Tu­rano, all friends of the groom. The cou­ple chose Grant Killingsworth, cousin of the bride, as the ring bearer.

Scrip­ture read­ings were given by Paula Welsh, cousin of the bride and Stan­ley Woz­niak, god­fa­ther of the bride. Of­fer­tory gifts were pre­sented by Maryann Adler, god­mother of the groom, and Charles Caru­sotto, god­fa­ther of the groom.

The wed­ding mu­sic was co­or­di­nated by Mary Ann Schultz, aunt of the bride. Soloist was the Rev. Lenny G. Kas­sick, ac­com­pa­nied by a vi­o­lin­ist and or­gan­ist.

Fol­low­ing the wed­ding cer­e­mony, an evening cock­tail hour and re­cep­tion was held at Sand Springs Coun­try Club, Drums.

The bride was hon­ored with two bridal show­ers, both given by the moth­ers of the bride and the groom, sis­ters and brides­maids. One was held at Edge­wood in the Pines, Drums; the other in Pitts­field, Masss­chus­setts, at The Ital­ian Amer­i­can Club of Pitts­field. A re­hearsal din­ner was hosted by the par­ents of the bride and groom at Booty’s Place, Ha­zle­ton.

The bride is a 2009 grad­u­ate of Ha­zle­ton Area High School. She earned her Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence de­gree in com­puter sci­ence in 2012 and doc­tor­ate de­gree in phys­i­cal ther­apy from Mis­eri­cor­dia Univer­sity in 2015. She is em­ployed as a phys­i­cal ther­a­pist by Geisinger Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Scran­ton. She is also an on­line in­struc­tor for PT Fi­nal Exam.

The groom is a 2005 grad­u­ate of Ta­conic High School, Pitts­field, Mas­sachus­setts. He earned his mas­ter’s de­gree in phys­i­cal ther­apy in 2010 and doc­tor­ate de­gree in phys­i­cal ther­apy from Mis­eri­cor­dia Univer­sity in 2012. He is em­ployed as a fac­ulty mem­ber of the Univer­sity of Scran­ton’s doc­tor­ate of phys­i­cal ther­apy pro­gram. In ad­di­tion to teach­ing, he is cur­rently pur­su­ing his doc­toral de­gree in ed­u­ca­tion at Drexel Univer­sity, Philadel­phia.

Fol­low­ing the wed­ding, the cou­ple hon­ey­mooned in Italy. They now re­side in Dal­las.
