EXAMS: On Tuesday, exams will be taken in periods 3/4 and 8/9. Wednesday’s exams will be given in periods 1/2 and 5/6/7. Thursday will be make-up exams. Best of luck to all.
NO SCHOOL: There will be no school Friday due to an Act 80 Day. School will also be closed Jan. 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as well as Jan. 22.
NEW SEMESTER: Jan. 23 will begin the second semester. Students are to report to their first semester homeroom to receive schedules. ATTENTION SENIORS:
On Jan. 29, a local photographer will be available to take senior portraits at a reduced price. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Caccese in Room 110 of the high school or go to the main office at the Career Center. Order forms will be available when you sign up for the pictures. In the event of a delay or cancellation, the photos will be taken on Jan. 31.
ECOLOGY CLUB: The Ecology Club meeting will be moved from Tuesday to Thursday directly after school in Room 213 until 3:15
LIBRARY: The HAHS Cougar Library will now be open after school Tuesdays and Thursdays until 5 p.m. Mr. Zullo and student tutors from Student Council and National Honor Society will be available to help any student. Also, student tutors, please sign up to tutor as soon as possible. ARTS & HUMANITIES:
In the second half of the annual Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire competitions, the Arts & Humanities Academy won far more awards than any other of the dozens of participating high schools. The following students from the Communication Arts Studio won in the photography contest: Grand prize, Mary Kate Gottstein; first place, Samuel Figueroa; second place, Alyson Malkin, and third place, Eva Olivieri. The following students from the Honors Visual Arts Studio won in the Display Ad Contest: Grand prize, Laura Blanco; first place, Alyssa Leonard; second place, Jenna Rossell; third place, Amanda Zuber; honorable mention, Jose Cuello. The students’ art will be used in official Faire advertisements, and the students, their families and teachers will enjoy a special free day at the Faire in the spring.
GUIDANCE: Any junior who took the PSAT test in October who did not receive their score reports please see your counselor in guidance to pick them up.
FOOTBALL: Workouts for returning varsity football players will begin immediately after school at the stadium. This is for returning players only. Transportation will not be provided.
