Drug charges for city woman
A Hazleton woman faces drug charges after a traffic stop during a Nov. 4 saturation patrol in the city, court papers say.
Stacy A. Scott, 50, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, use or possession of drug paraphernalia and three summary violations by Hazleton police.
The charges were filed against her Jan. 25 and she was released on $5,000 unsecured bail by Magisterial District Judge Joseph Zola, Hazleton, on Jan. 28.
Police said they stopped Scott’s vehicle for running a stop sign and for having taillights that didn’t work around 1 a.m. while in the area of North Locust and West 11th streets. Her vehicle registration expired in September 2018 and Scott had four glass pipes with burnt residue, six packets of suspected heroin, straws with a white powder substance on them and a digital scale in her possession, arrest papers state.
