Drug charges for city woman

A Ha­zle­ton woman faces drug charges af­ter a traf­fic stop dur­ing a Nov. 4 sat­u­ra­tion pa­trol in the city, court pa­pers say.

Stacy A. Scott, 50, was charged with pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance, use or pos­ses­sion of drug para­pher­na­lia and three sum­mary vi­o­la­tions by Ha­zle­ton po­lice.

The charges were filed against her Jan. 25 and she was re­leased on $5,000 un­se­cured bail by Mag­is­te­rial Dis­trict Judge Joseph Zola, Ha­zle­ton, on Jan. 28.

Po­lice said they stopped Scott’s ve­hi­cle for run­ning a stop sign and for hav­ing tail­lights that didn’t work around 1 a.m. while in the area of North Lo­cust and West 11th streets. Her ve­hi­cle regis­tra­tion ex­pired in Septem­ber 2018 and Scott had four glass pipes with burnt residue, six pack­ets of sus­pected heroin, straws with a white pow­der sub­stance on them and a dig­i­tal scale in her pos­ses­sion, ar­rest pa­pers state.
